Many ways to live your values this weekend
Dear Friends,
Wow! Are we getting practice in living our values these days! Special thanks to those who are doing this through their Winter Nights service which Rev. Rodney has put so much good organizing around.
Tonight is the nightly Richmond Peace Walk for All Families. And tomorrow is one of the national days of action for which our partner organization, Indivisible–and many others–have called.
This week they are asking for community building events as well as protests. Our intern Rose Riedel is organizing a garden work party at the MDUUC Peace Garden from 8-11.
AND A number of you may be at the Walnut Creek weekly protest AND there is another grassroots protest planned for Concord Bart at 1 p.m. I will be attending that one and plan to park at Pleasant Hill BART and Bart over on the train scheduled for 12:37. Would love to have company! Wear your Side with Love shirts if you have them. Keeping one another company is another great way to promote unity….
Also we have cardboard and markers on campus today in the Gilmartin building if you need them. The building will also be open tomorrow from about 10:30 to 12:15 if you want to come by. Bring your values to life.
Calls are really important as are all the many options Rev. Rodney has compiled in yesterday’s justice email and which you can find here: http://mduuc.org/living-our-values/(Not seeing MDUUC’s weekly emails? Please search your promotions and other tabs because we want to stay in touch.)
Our values matter. Let’s keep them alive and in sight.
In faith and perseverance, Leslie
Rev. Leslie Takahashi
