Today I Will
This morning I got up and did a little yoga. I gave my dogs an extra long walk because it’s been a little skimpy this week. I made myself a tofu smoothie. I dragged myself to the Y and did my swimming routine and was treated to my first day of winter swimming–my favorite. I sent messages to more people whom I particularly wanted to know they are in my thoughts and that I have their back. I read a little and learned a little and I discovered alternatives to the Kindle app and Audible, the latter which is a great comfort to me yet I no longer wish to support that part of empire. I made a plan to meet someone.
I mention all of this not because I think anyone should have interest in this level of my life. I mention it because as we are all reeling from the clarity of Tuesday’s message and grieving so much, I believe it is through the little things that we will be centered and grounded. Strength is an important part of resilience and the little things of our daily routines–especially those that connect us to the wonders of the morning stars, to life in all its forms and to community matter even more today.
I also spoke to a group of folks at Rossmoor and afterwards one person came up and whispered, “Thank you, you saved my life.”
What are you doing to build your strength? What are you doing to remember how much you matter?
