Staying Virtual A Little Longer For Safety!

In these complex times, there is an awareness that we are all experiencing challenges, as we navigate the ongoing global pandemic and recent Omicron surge, that has shifted the way we gather in community. As glimmers of hope begin to shine light on what we anticipate will be the downward trajectory of the Omicron peak, state and local data suggest we are not quite there yet. Given this dynamic, Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church will continue to offer programming and Sunday services in a virtual format. We are in the process of planning to return to our outdoor-virtual hybrid format for worship and religious education on February 20th.

When we do return, we will be requiring proof of vaccination, so if you have not yet sent in your photo of your vaccination card to admin@mduuc.org, please do so in the coming weeks to allow us time to update this status on your nametag.

The Laramie Project is a Hybrid Event!!

But if that feels too far away,  you can plan to attend our upcoming presentation of The Laramie Project!  We have both in person (and outside) and livestream options for the tickets. There is an evening show on Saturday 2/12 and a matinee on Sunday 2/13.  This is a fundraiser for our youth to attend General Assembly in the summer.  Tickets can be found at www.mduuc.org/laramie-project.

We recognize that these are extraordinary times and want to ensure that each of us remains safe, healthy, and connected to each other. If you need pastoral support, please reach out to either Rev. Leslie Takahashi or our Intern Minister, Michael Macias. Our community is also blessed by those who are willing to run errands for community members in need, and if you find yourself in this position, please reach out  and we will assist in helping you access what you need. Connection is the piece that will sustain us through this period of isolation, and we want to remind you that there are opportunities to remain connected that include:

  • Virtual Connect Groups
  • Virtual Community Circles
  • Weekly vespers service
  • Friday meditation
  • The upcoming performance of the Laramie Project
  • This is a great—and low-risk—time to try out being in the choir, virtually

May we all remain safe, healthy and may the presence of love continue to surround each of us.
