RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES

Nursery & Childcare Program

Our nursery program provides a nurturing and safe environment for children aged 0–3 years old during the Sunday services. We understand the importance of early childhood development and aim to create a space where infants and toddlers can explore, learn, and grow. Our dedicated team of caregivers ensures that each child's individual needs are met, offering age-appropriate activities, sensory play, and gentle guidance. We prioritize building trusting relationships with both the children and their families, fostering a sense of security and comfort. With a focus on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, our nursery program is designed to support the development of young children and provide parents with peace of mind as they engage in other aspects of our religious community.

**Childcare for children of all ages is available upon request for all MDUUC events and programming.**

PRESCHOOL - GRADE 1 PROGRAM

Our Montessori-style Religious Education Class for children in Preschool through 1st grade is designed to help young children develop emotional intelligence and empathy. Through exploring feelings and emotions and learning how to process them, children will cultivate kindness and understanding toward others and themselves. Our class integrates UU values that center around love, with hands-on activities including music, movement, art, and games, all built on a foundation of spiritual play. This nurturing environment allows children to engage in meaningful exploration, fostering both their emotional growth and spiritual development in a playful, supportive setting.

Grades 2–5 Program

Our Montessori-style Religious Education Class for children in 2nd grade through 5th grade is thoughtfully crafted to support the development of emotional intelligence. Through engaging lessons on feelings and emotions, children learn how to process their experiences and develop empathy and kindness toward others. The class delves into Unitarian Universalist values that center around love, integrating hands-on activities such as music, movement, art, and games. This approach, grounded in spiritual play, creates a dynamic and nurturing environment where children can explore and grow emotionally and spiritually, fostering a deep understanding of themselves and their connections to others.
