As we approach Independence Day, let us look at the values it espoused, how it is perceived in the modern era, and explore some of the hypocrisies that underlie the tension between the two. Is there a way for UUs to celebrate such a holiday, or even be inspired by it? How can we view this day through a collective lens consistent with our values?
