Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas:

  • human development,
  • relationships,
  • personal skills,
  • sexual behavior,
  • sexual health, and
  • society and culture.

Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives not only provides facts about anatomy and human development, but also helps participants clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.

We offer the following OWL classes:

  • 8th grade OWL – Fall & Winter Quarters (starts in October)
  • 10th – 12th grade – Fall & Winter Quarters (starts in October)
  • 5th grade – Spring Quarter (starts in March)
  • 1st grade – Spring Quarter (starts in March)

All custodial caregivers of children/youth enrolled in an OWL class are required to attend a mandatory orientation session and provide written approval for their children/youth to attend the course. OWL class fee structure:

Families registered for and attending religious education classes/groups at MDUUC or another UU congregation:

  • $75 per child for 1st grade & 5th grade OWL
  • $150 per child for 8th grade and 10th – 12th grade OWL

All other families:

  • $125 per child for 1st grade & 5th grade OWL
  • $175 per child for 8th grade and 10th – 12th grade OWL
